Notes

Milestone 1 has been posted to the Eclipse MTJ Download site. M1 It was posted on Thursday September 14th, and refreshed on Friday September 15th.

There was a discussion of some usability/user interface issues that Craig or Stanley have noticed, and they are going to open entries in Bugzilla about them in the next few days.

Stanley mentioned that it looks like MTJ is very MidP centric, and that his uses are very Java ME centric, but not MidP. He would like to see more features, and more visual identity for non-MidP users. Kevin stated that the goal is to be available both for the non-Midp user, and the Midp user, but that the initial release is a little more Midp centric. Since there is not a generic SDK definition that will work for non-Midp, like there is a generic UEI definition, we will have to write a custom SDK definition to find any libraries. We should boost the priority of the Generic definition we talked about in the face-to-face meeting.

Stanley also mentioned that Deployment looks like it is geared to a static configuration on an emulator. Most of his use needs to have dynamic configuration (such as dynamic IP addresses that change on a regular basis) to a real device. He is going to create an entry in bugzilla as he clarifies his concerns, and we should also consider this as an item to do at the beginning of the next development cycle.

Next Meeting

  • Next call will be Thursday the 5th of October.
