Capella/Viewpoints/Technical Information
This page provides policies for development of viewpoints for Capella with Capella Studio.
Convention of deployment name of viewpoints
When a viewpoint with its artifacts is tested, it is packaged, for instance as a zip file, in order to be deployed. Capella and a viewpoint have their own life cycle and versions. A naming convention is necessary to immediately identify the compatible association between a viewpoint and Capella.
The naming convention is the following:
<Viewpoint Name>-<Version>.<Timestamp>_Capella-<Version>-<dropins|updateSite>
Examples:
BasicMass-1.0.0.2016-02-23_00-13-11_Capella-1.0.0-dropins
BasicMass-1.0.0.2016-02-23_00-13-11_Capella-1.0.0-updateSite
This naming rule indicates on which Capella versions the viewpoint is compatible with.
Note: Compatible means "can be installed in; can be run in; can work with, etc.".
