Developer Meeting

The PTP Developer meeting is a forum for all developers to discuss a broad variety of issues relating to PTP development activities. In particular, this meeting will discuss release engineering, provide updates on current development activities, and outline our plans for user outreach, training and educational activities.

The meeting is held on the second Tuesday of the month at 1pm ET / 12noon CT. Meeting notices will be posted to the ptp-dev mailing list.

User Meeting

The PTP User meeting is a forum for users to discuss issues about PTP. It is well attended by both users and developers, and we usually run short tutorials on various aspects of development using PTP.

The meeting is held on the 4th Wednesday of each month, 2:00 PM ET / 1:00 PM CT. Meeting notices will be posted to the ptp-user mailing list.

Please see PTP User Meetings for more details.

Developer Workshops

The PTP project holds regular workshops to gather together developers working on PTP and PTP related tools. The aim of these workshops is to gain a better understanding of PTP requirements, plan for forthcoming PTP releases, and address any issues that developers may have.

Workshops

The following are details of workshops:

Parallel Tools Platform Developers Forum and Hackathon, Baton Rouge, LA, Approx. August 2014
PTP User-Developer Workshop, Chicago, September 13-14, 2013
PTP User-Developer Workshop, Chicago, September 18-20, 2012
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, May 23-24, 2007

BOFs

Birds of a Feather meetings at conferences often showcase new and special features, and often contain succinct summaries of PTP features especially for attendees who may not be familiar with Eclipse and PTP. These meetings sometimes substitute for other regular PTP meetings (user and/or developer) and are listed in those meetings, but are listed here also to make them easier to find! Presentations from these meetings are available here:

Scalability Meeting

The Scalability meeting is to discuss technical development issues related to scalability in PTP. This includes such topics as displaying large numbers of jobs or nodes, monitoring large systems, working with large numbers of files, etc.

The meeting is held every Thursday at 10am ET / 10am CT. Please sign up to the ptp-scaling-dev mailing list for meeting updates.

Scalability meetings were held until about mid-2012, and are no longer meeting, as most issues have been addressed.
